Our Story
The Cortland Interfaith Council was officially formed in 2025 out of the mutual works of The Cortland County Council of Churches (C4) and the Cortland Interfaith Association. Years prior, these organizations realized that by partnering with one another, they could strengthen the faith communities of Cortland County with even more impact. While being true to each of their individual missions, they worked diligently to create an organization that was inclusive of both organizations’ goals for Cortland. The Cortland interfaith Council works today to provide resources for faith communities, support the annual Crop Walk, provide a Thanksgiving Service for the community, and provide summer camp scholarships for local youth.
Our Mission
Building Bridges Across Faiths
The mission of the Cortland Interfaith Council is to be the visible presence of the diverse spiritual and faith groups in the Cortland area by fostering understanding, developing relationships, encouraging education, and promoting cooperation to build a stronger community. To serve as a spiritually grounded board dedicated to advancing community well-being by providing grants and resources to local faith communities whose work aligns with our core spiritual values and commitment to compassion, justice, and service.
